In the Press

"Effervescent and always delightfully captivating, Shaina Summerville returns to BrightSide, shining sweetly as a perfectly priceless Penny Pingleton, Tracy's, naive, best friend."
- Colin Douglas on Hairspray at Brightside Theatre for Chicago Theatre Review
"Shaina Summerville dazzles as the Star-To-Be, as well as one of the Boylan Sisters, along with talented Emily Lewis and Alison Stake."

-Colin Douglas on Annie at Citadel Theatre for Chicago Theatre Review
"No well-trained actor wants to appear to be a bad actor, but Schneider and Summerville strike that dangerous balance by playing talentless performers with skill and consistency."

-Anthony Walker on Gypsy at Williams Street Rep for the Northwest Herald
"Playing opposite Mr. Cunningham as Fran Kubelik is the musically masterful Shaina Summerville. Ms. Summerville sings the heck out of her numbers, particularly with the ladies ensemble in "I Say a Little Prayer" as well as in her beautiful ballads such as "A House is Not a Home," "Whoever You Are,"  and "Knowing When to Leave.". . . In the moments when Ms. Summerville finds the relevance in her songs she truly sparkles."
-Colin Douglas on Promises Promises at Brightside Theatre for Chicagoland Musical Theatre Reviews
